Whole-grain Cornbread

Pre-heat oven to 400F. Do not pre-heat skillet.

Mix dry ingredients, then stir in milk. Pour batter into liberally-oiled iron skillet. Bake twenty minutes, turn over like a pancake, bake ten more minutes.

You can turn off the oven at any time after turning the bread over.


Egg Riffles

Put the flour into a bowl, make a hole, drop in the egg. With a fork, work egg into flour until you can use your fingers to rub it into little clumps.

Drop into boiling broth. Cook until tender, about fifteen minutes.
