12:36 PM 12/7/2022 Chronic Conditions: Sciatica: I've had to shift position in bed for it a few times, it hurts when I check for pain, and I sometimes step in an unexpected direction. Some mornings I limp until I do my morning exercises. I also stiffen up if I sit still for an unreasonable time. I'm pretty sure the previous dose is completely out of my system, so I think it's time for another six-day course of corticosteroidd. Peripheral neuropathy: still rarely notice it without checking. It's mostly in the ball of my left foot. Current infections: In October, I brought home a virus and passed it on to Dave, who developed bronchitis and bought medication for it on October 21. I gradually improved, but still haven't stopped coughing. Since pre-Covid I coughed from November through April every year, this didn't worry me. On Friday, December second, I noticed scratchiness at the back of the throat and took a Zicam. I had had occasional drips of clear fluid from the nose for a couple of days before that. On Saturday, December third, I overexerted myself by spending two hours in Kroger--I was definitely driving with ability impaired on the way home. I spent Sunday at home taking lots of naps, and woke up feeling much better on Monday. At some point, I drained my sinuses by taking three Sudafed. I took Zicam now and then -- never more than one in a day. Sometime after Monday and before Friday I took two or three days of dextromethorphan 20mg|Gualfenesin 400mg. It seems to have helped. I went to Kroger again on Saturday, and didn't overexert. I bought more dextromethorphan, but haven't taken any. On Sunday, I put a mask on and helped with the clean up after Christmas dinner. I didn't cough once during the clean up, and didn't take any cough drops. I did cough while walking home. --------- Misc: I don't use much iodized salt. Should I have my iodine levels checked? Flu shot? When I take my blood pressure in the evenings, it is sometimes disturbingly high. There is no correlation to what I've been doing. Weight: I found an old note that says that I weighed 165 pounds in 2012 and 170 in 2013. Since then, I've been losing weight slowly and steadly without any effort other than saving pigging out for special occasions. I appeared to bottom out at 138 pounds in November, but during this cold I've weighed as little as 134. Now that my digestion is back to normal, it has been between 135 and 138. I weigh myself wearing only glasses, and before eating in the morning, to reduce variables. I calculate that my proper weight is 130, since I was disturbingly thin when I weighed 120, and had to carry candy to keep my blood sugar up. But I've probably lost muscle mass since then. I think that I was in my thirties when I was too thin. 24 September 2012 -- 165 3 October 2012 -- 164.5 2 November 2012 -- 166.5 21 February 2013 -- 171.5 30 July 2013 -- 169 31 July 2013 -- 170 12 September 2013 -- 168.5 17 September 2013 -- 168.0 3 October 2013 -- 168.5 pills weight
