Beeson Banner: Special Thanksgiving Edition

I spent an hour on the bike, pausing to drop a carton of unwanted cat food on the doorstep of the Animal Welfare League.   Otherwise, we just sat around and were thankful, not least because there are so many young folks taking care of us.

We're getting tired of isolation, but on the other hand, I haven't even once had a nasty cold that opens the door to a bacterial infection and sends me to Dr. Darr for antibiotics.

When I cooked a feast on Saturday, I thought that today we'd be eating left-over chicken and dressing, but we picked up our Martin's order yesterday, so we had fresh hamburger on an "asiago bagel", with potato salad on the side.   The "bagel" was such a fat bun that I cut it into four slices and we shared it.   I had also ordered potato chips, and we both overindulged.

After supper, we made seven quarter-pound patties and froze them in square snack bags — the bacon press was a great help in making them flat.   That left half a pound; we'll have some of it with cottage cheese for breakfast.
